Before starting the readings on Anime, Magna and Fanfiction I had no idea what those were. I knew that Anime was Japanese style cartoons, but that was about it. I haven't finished the readings but the fanfiction aspect is fascinating so far. I can't believe that adolescents write because they want to and use peer-editing and revising and editing techniques to improve their writing. I know that we don't want to abandon the traditional curruculum but if the kids are doing this type of writing on their own, can't it fit into the classroom in some little way? Of course this is from a math teacher.
